How does it work?

We’re looking for raw talent that hasn’t yet had a chance to shine. Which means, of course, that we don’t want anyone who has ever had their film work paid for or broadcast in a commercial way. TRAD is about finding, giving breaks and training to creatives from around the UK, and then dropping them into filming environments that will challenge them at every level. This could mean filming on a snow covered mountain; a 20ft surf break; or hanging from 1000ft vertical cliff faces.

Sign me up. I want to go on a free holiday!

Not so fast. Nothing is free in this world!

First you need to email us a link to your showreel (two minutes is fine) to info@tradfilms.com. It doesn’t need to contain adventure footage but should be representational of your style and abilities.
We’d also like you to tell us about your film making experiences and any formal training (Not that we require any formal training), and why (no more than a paragraph – PLEASE) you’re right to make a film for TRAD?

Anything else?

You’ll need to be available to come to London for one day in November and to go away for up to a week in December/January. You will also need a current passport.
Did we mention that TRAD will launch at the March (27th – 29th) 2009 Outdoors Show at the NEC? And that you will present your documentary alongside the athlete you filmed, to a rather large theatre audience?
Oh and before we forget. You’ll need to be happy to be filmed whilst on YOUR journey - because you will be, throughout.

Hold on, what do I get out of this?

What, a free holiday isn’t enough?

If you win you’ll get your very own broadcast quality camera. Plus, you and the other five diarists will get a juicy lifetime royalty from all DVD sales after the event is over.
You will also be given the opportunity to be introduced to a number of important movers and shakers within the Film and TV industry. So get cracking! Email us a link to your showreel to info@tradfilms.com and include a short biography.

Good Luck!
